Sophia Ahmed

With a master’s degree in Social Work, and having over 12 years of experience, Sophia has worked in adult learning education, public health, disaster response and risk reduction programmes in a several contexts involving internally displace persons, camps management, outbreak response, refugees (migrants) response, recovery program, vulnerable communities as well as capacity building and coaching.

She has strong skills in project and team management, training facilitation, developing guidelines and modules, and volunteer mobilisation. She incorporates the local context in a community-based approach to health education and promotion, DRR, disaster preparedness and response, as well as behaviour change communication. She has successfully led/participated in and managed various humanitarian programmes/projects at policy, strategic, implementation and evaluations levels in Pakistan and abroad.

She has worked in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Sudan, and can fluently speak Urdu, English and Arabic.
