Dr. Hameed Jamali is a Climate and Resilience expert with extensive experience spanning over 20 years. He has primarily worked in these sectors on research and advisory, policy analysis related assignments besides having managed many projects. Dr. Jamali completed his PhD in Climate Resilient Development from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), Geneva. Currently, he is working as Climate Smart Policy Analyst for Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC), Bangkok. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, Netherlands and conducted research on climate change adaptation and water governance issues with a focus on Indus Delta, Pakistan. Besides, Dr. Jamali also served UN, national and international NGOs, semi-government organizations and academia. As a Climate Smart Policy Analyst at ADPC Bangkok, he is working on mainstreaming climate change within water, agriculture, development planning and finance through capacity building and support for the key federal ministries (Ministry of Climate Change, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Water Resources etc.) in Pakistan. Prior to that, he worked with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as a Climate Change Expert for KP Cities Improvement Project in Peshawar, Pakistan. Dr. Jamali served with Green Economy Team, Geneva, Switzerland. He conducted research and provided technical advice on climate change, environment and development policy and undertook assessment of national and sectoral policy by engaging with key high-level stakeholders in the countries of the regions covered (Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia). From 1998-2006, Dr. Jamali successfully completed several projects and individual assignments for UNICEF, UNDP, ADB, Oxfam GB, Oxfam Novib. He has also received several international academic scholarships.
